Moore Historical Consulting's Carver Gribble Moore is a man with three last names and is deeply rooted in the Upper Cumberland region of Tennessee. This fact alone led him to start Moore Historical Consulting as a way to give back to the area that has made him. He firmly believes that our historic sites deserve to be preserved for the next generation through the National Register of Historic Places. Through the Tennessee Century Farms program farming families can be recognized for their agricultural heritage. Historic Preservation is and continues to be the main priority at Moore Historical Consulting. At Moore Historical Consulting discovering and preserving your past is fun and easy!!


Qualifications: 

- B.S. in History from Tennessee Tech University.
- Docent at Cookeville Depot and History Museums. Lay people are encountered frequently at these sites. 
- Author of numerous research essays on topics relating to the Civil War, Revolutionary War, Native      American studies, and Standard Oil.
- Civil War essays focus on topics relevant to the Upper Cumberland area. These topics include Champ Ferguson, and Tinker Dave Beatty.

 - Has significant knowledge doing research in public repositories.
-  On May 16, 2018 Moore successfully defended a National Register of Historic Places nomination to the Tennessee Historical Commission's State National Register Review Board. Carverdale Farms was officially listed in the National Register of Historic Places on July 31, 2018.
-  On March 2, 2018 Moore's first historic marker proposal was approved by the Tennessee Historical Commission. This marker was dedicated on September 14, 2018 at Capshaw School.
- On January 30, 2019 Moore successfully defended National Register of Historic Places nominations for T.B. Sutton General Store (Granville, TN) and Sparta Historic Residential District Expansion (Sparta, TN) to the Tennessee Historical Commission's State National Register Review Board. The Sutton General Store was officially listed in the National Register on May 7, 2019 and the Sparta Residential District Expansion was officially listed on May 8, 2019.
- On January 29, 2020 Moore successfully defended a National Register of Historic Places nomination to the Tennessee Historical Commission's State National Register Review Board. Rock Island's Webb Hotel was officially listed in the National Register on March 27, 2020.

Services Offered: 

-  Identifying, nominating, defending, and listing historic properties in the National Register of Historic Places.
-  Identifying threatened historic and natural landscapes and helping the property owner(s) obtain a Permanent Conservation Easement.
-  Identifying agricultural facilities that have been in a family for 100+ years and listing them in the Tennessee Century Farms program.
-  Identifying historic events that need their story told, and writing historic marker proposals pertaining to that particular event.
-  Compiling histories for businesses, individuals, or government organizations.
-  Assisting museums in designing, and/or improving exhibits.
-  Historical movie/documentary consulting.

Rate: Varies based on project, but rates usually start at $25/hour.
